- #pentecost #shavuout #wordandspiritTonight begins the Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost). It is the celebration of the giving of the Torah in the Old Testament and the coming of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. Jesus said in John 14:26 NKJV "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." and he went on to say the Holy Spirit will guide us in all truth and prayed that we would be sanctified in truth, the Word is truth. The Word and The Spirit work together. We can't have true Spirit-filled moves of God without the Word and we can't receive revelation from the Word without the Holy Spirit. Over these next few days as God emphasizes His Word and The Spirit make extra time to study the Word and ask to be filled or refilled with The Spirit. Take time to study and pray through the following Scriptures between now and Sunday night: Exodus 20 Ruth John 14-17 Acts 1-5 Psalm 119 There are several ministries hosting online Pentecost services. I'll be watching Curt Landry Ministries tonight and tomorrow night at 7pm. Don't miss what God has for you during this appointed time. Hear and receive what He has for you. As God is drawing near to us let us draw near to Him in prayer, Bible study and giving. If you want to give a special Pentecost offering, I encourage you to choose one of these three ministries, @larryhuchministries @curtlandrymin and @jewish_voice they all do great humanitarian work in Israel and bless the Church with their teaching. #shavuout #pentecost #torah #holyspirit #encouragement #biblereading #biblestudy #spiritfilled#Repost @copelandnetwork (@get_repost) ・・・ 🚫 Racism is not OK. We have the promise of forgiveness for our past. We have the promise of provision for our present. Psalm 23 • Psalm 91 • Psalm 103The event in the news brings various emotions, all of which are valid. Racism at its core is not systemic. It is not black versus white. Racism at its core is demonic. Yes, there is a devil and he is the one that puts the evil of racism in the minds and hearts of people. Racism is not a political tool, racism is none of the surface things we hear reported in the media. The media will always focus on division and not people helping people. The media will always give us the negative stories and every now and then a positive one to help skew their divisive agenda. The only thing that will bring racism to an end is the same thing that brings an end to the power of sin in our lives, the blood of Jesus. When people of faith come together and pray for and serve our communities despite theological differences, that is when and where healing begins. Political activism cannot heal, only Jesus can. Several weeks ago Rabbi Curt Landry and Dr. Tony Evans had a discussion on spiritual warfare and towards the end they discussed racism. Dr. Evans pointed out that racism is a spirit that can only be defeated by a unified church that quits believing in a black church or a white church but the Church of Jesus Christ. Jesus took down the wall between Jew and Gentile and ever since then the enemy has been creating walls of racial and cultural division. In the midst of emotion, pray for grieving families. Pray that the hearts of racists would be softened and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for unity in the body of Christ. All of us need to examine our own hearts in the midst of emotion and pray for God's justice, not ours and pray for the love of God to well up in our own hearts, that all sides would repent and forgive and that individuals will experience healing, our churches experience revival, and our nation receives an awakening. #thoughts #healing #racism #america #church #unity #teardownwalls #destroydivisonYall know I like lots of different Bibles and change Bibles frequently. Today I pulled this one out. The two verses tabbed are Psalm 81:10 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it". Written next to the verse, 2020 - I'm going to see it! Jeremiah 1:19 "They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you, for I am with you, says the LORD, to deliver you". Grab hold of these two verses! 2020 will be a great year! The beginning doesn't always decide the ending! Ask Holy Spirit to show you how God is moving and how you need to move! #bible #encouragement #prophetic #propheticword #rodparsley #prp #2020 #pentecost #holyghostfire #livinglegacy#Repost @rodparsley (@get_repost) ・・・ Leading a multi-racial congregation has afforded me the privilege of countless, deep conversations with precious African American brothers and sisters in Christ. I hear in their voices deep anguish as they recall incidents in which someone in law enforcement subjected them to extra - and often intense - scrutiny, simply because of the color of their skin. — This week in Minneapolis, those same feelings of powerlessness and defilement have followed an encounter where officers thought they knew something about George Floyd, based upon the way he looked. And ultimately, his life was taken after said officers exerted far too excessive force. — It is beyond time for the church to rise up as a righteous body of justice and demand that those in authority follow God’s command! Jesus died for every “tribe and tongue and people and nation.” (Revelation 3:9) His Church was meant to represent this redemptive activity. — Yes, pray for the Floyd family and those suffering as a result of this tragedy! But also, raise your voice even louder for justice, fairness and equality, as a Holy God intends for every one of us. — #icantbreathe #silentnomore #rodparsley #prpSometimes entering into the next season is harder than we would have thought. Last season always seems comfortable, familiar, easy and moving forward takes work. God knows what we can and cannot handle. God knows what we need. God knows what would cause us to draw back. The way into the next season may seem hard to us but God knows things we don't and He knows us in ways we don't know ourselves. Trust His pathway, be obedient and don't complain (that can add a lot of years to something that should only take a couple of weeks). #devotionalthought #biblereading #exodus #staythecourse #dontgiveup #dontturnaround #moveforwardWhen it comes to growing in God, sometimes you have to let go of something good and right to step into the next level of growth. That teaching or season is still a part of you, it's just being rearranged and refocused. That can be a challenge at times but we are called to go from faith to faith and glory to glory. Time with God is not linear it is cyclical. Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles - each year, three feast to take us higher and deeper with God. Pentecost on the Hebrew calendar begins this Thursday at sundown and ends Saturday night. In Jewish tradition you spend three days before Pentecost in prayer and personal reflection to be ready to receive the revelation God has for you. For the believer in Jesus, Pentecost is a celebration of the giving of God's Word (the giving of the Ten Commandments) and the Spirit (Acts chapter two). Take the next three days to pull aside with God, review your growth in Him, repent of sin and ask Him to prepare your heart to receive what He has for you during this set aside time of Pentecost. Ask Holy Spirit to rearrange things in you, to show you what does and does not need to go forward with you, and how to apply truths in new ways. We are in a season of shifting, be ready and be willing to shift. Shift spiritually, shift mentally, shift emotionally and even shift physically if He says to. #TuesdayThoughts #contemplation #personalinventory #prayer #pentecostFrom the @charismamag article, How The Church Must Respond to the New Witchcraft available on https://www.charismanews.com/culture/78383-how-the-church-must-respond-to-the-new-witchcraft #charisma #spiritualwarfareToday we pause to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom that we enjoy. Today is not about hamburgers and hotdogs or the sale at your favorite store. Today is about their service, their bravery, their commitment and their sacrifice for this great country. We remember all the men and women who have given their lives and we pray for their families.
