Some of you may think what I'm about to say doesn't amount to much but I endeavor to hear what God has to say even about the small things in life. I enjoy football. I am loud when I watch games. This season I let my emotions get the better of me and I got out of line with the words I spoke. The Holy Spirit and I had about a forty five minute conversation about the Cowboys this morning. More so my attitude. Holy Spirit and I have a very direct relationship. This morning I was woke up with these words, Casey do you enjoy football? Yes. Have you ever coached football? No sir. Then repent of your words and attitude against Coach Garrett. You may have an opinion but it's a negative one and it's ruining your enjoyment of a game I blessed you with. This was surprising but I repented like I was told. Our season may be over but the truth is I'm already looking forward to the draft, training camp and next season. The words we speak regardless of the issue have impact on our emotions, thinking and relationships. I obviously don't have relationships with the staff or players of the team but my emotions and thinking have been negatively affected by my words. We didn't end up where we wanted but we did have a good season and instead of being mad, I'm going to look forward to next season and yes, pray that the off season goes well and that we are set up to be even more successful next season. There was more to the conversation and all of it wasn't correction. All in all I enjoyed having a conversation about football with the Holy Spirit. It truly is a blessing in my life and I am thankful for the attitude check so it can stay that way. Bottom line with this post. Sports are a gift from God. This year Brother Savelle is celebrating 50 years in ministry. The Lord told him to tell Brother Copeland that he is submitting himself completely to KCM for the year as a seed. Brother Copeland and Brother Savelle will be together for all the victory campaigns and more this year. In this morning's service Brother Savelle talked about the importance of watering the seed. That's a simple word, yet profound. So many of us give, volunteer, etc. but never think to water all our different seeds with the Word - consistently. His point on consistency really hit home. I encourage you to listen and relisten to the message throughout the week and the year. And if you haven't heard the prophetic words for 2019 look them up on YouTube. God has used this man to bless my life in so many ways that Instagram would reach the character limit before I ever really got started. It was messages like repairers of the breach, there's a devil loose and the Joshua six series that made the biggest impression on me as a kid and into my teens. Nowadays it's still the uncompromising preaching and teaching of the cross, holiness, miracles and the feasts of the Lord that have me so thankful that God had me flip through the channels and find PRP when I was eight. Throughout the generations the church has lost truths and regained truths. We truly have been in an up swing ever since Martin Luther's 95 Thesis on October 31,1517. To be sure there were those who prepared the way for Luther like he prepared the way for others. It is also true that the later part of his ministry ended badly full of antisemitism. We appreciate the good and we learn from the bad. Many of us today take the understanding of salvation by grace alone through faith alone for granted, as common knowledge. We take for granted the authority of Scripture. Yet today, as then, there is still the need not only to teach those same reformation truths but also to correct the missteps of antisemitism in Luther's later theology. The truth is without a reformation, there would have been no Jonathan Edwards and Charles Finney. Without Edwards and Finney we wouldn't have had a Pentecostal movement and without a Pentecostal movement we wouldn't have had the Word of Faith. God has used all of these movements as building blocks upon another.
