“Therefore with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation.”
Isaiah 12:3 NKJV
As Christians we don’t find speratic joy in our circumstances but continual joy in our salvation. Jesus prayed that our joy may be full. Psalm 126 tells us that those who sow in tears will reap in joy.
Romans 15:13 NKJV “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by
the power of the Holy Spirit.”
James tells us to count it all joy when we face various trials. We don’t rejoice because of the trial but in it because our source of joy is not based on circumstances. One translation of Philippians 4:11 says, “I have learned how to be independent from my circumstances.”
Jesus is our source of joy! Don’t look to good circumstances to bring you joy and don’t allow negative circumstances to steal your joy. If you feel a lack of joy, pray with the Psalmist, restore unto me the joy of my salvation.
