Morning Devotion: Redeemed

“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,”
Psalm 107:2 NKJV

Redemption is a beautiful thing. We are undeserving, yet, God sent His son to die on the cross to atone for our sins that we would be forgiven and spend eternity with Him.

Titus 2:11-14 NKJV “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”

Jesus’s work of redemption not only made it possible for Heaven to be our home but it delivered us out of darkness and brought us into light. Through the power of the Holy Spirit we are being conformed to the image of Christ and each day we are growing in Christ likeness.

This is why Paul said to put off the old nature and that he put to death his sinful desires. We have the victory over sin through the power of the Holy Spirit. When we submit to God, we then can resist the devil and he will flee.

Take a moment and think about the redeeming work of Jesus Christ. Thank Him that you are no longer in darkness and pray for help of the Holy Spirit to walk in the light of that redemption.
