Morning Devotion: Blessed

“Blessed is the man….” Psalm 1:1

How do we walk in blessing? According to Psalm one; we don’t walk in ungodly counsel, stand in the path of sinners, sit in the seat of the scornful, instead we delight in the law of the LORD and meditate in it day and night.

Matthew 5:3-12 NKJV “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Psalm one and Matthew five paint an incredible picture of living a blessed life. It’s a picture most of us may not associate with blessing but those are the words of God concerning blessing.

All throughout Scripture we are told to meditate on Scripture. That simply means to ponder the meaning and think about continually. Today, meditate on being blessed.

ACTION STEPS:

Ask yourself the following questions based from Psalm one:

Am I listening to ungodly counsel?
Am I walking in continual sin?
Am I scornful?
Do I delight in the Scripture (do I give myself more than five minutes in the Bible)?
Do I let my mind think about Scriptures throughout the day?
