Evening Devotion: Dwell

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Colossians 3:16 NKJV

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…. If you abide in Me and My words abide in you (John 15:17).

Psalm 15 NKJV “Lord , who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend; In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the Lord ; He who swears to his own hurt and does not change; He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.”

We dwell with Him by dwelling in the Word. The tabernacle of God is with men and He shall dwell with them, and He shall be their God and they shall be His people.

Whether the language of Scripture is dwell or abide, the location is the same, with Him. We dwell with Him by remaining grounded in the Scriptures.

Take time tonight and dwell, abide in the Scriptures. Meditate on them day and night and let your way be established.
