Part 8: Understanding The Mystery of Christ

jesus_thumbs_up2Today we are looking at the mystery of Christ revealed. We will read and then pull out two portions of scripture to be discussed.

Ephesians 3:1-13 NIV “For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles— (2) Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, (3) that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. (4) In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, (5) which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. (6) This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. (7) I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. (8) Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, (9) and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. (10) His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, (11) according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. (12) In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. (13) I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.”

When we look at the Old Covenant we see that God had one people with promises, but we, through Jesus Christ have a new and better covenant with better promises (Hebrews 8:6).

Ephesians 3:6 NIV “This mystery is that through the gospel the gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and shares together in the promise in Christ Jesus.”

We are no longer Jews and Gentiles, we are all grafted in, we have THE BLESSING of Abraham and are one Church.

Galatians 3:9, 13-14 NKJV “So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. (13) Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), (14) that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

“….Jews, Greeks, or the church of God -” (1 Corinthians 10:32).

Romans 4:24 tells us that what was written for Abraham was also for us, that is the mystery revealed. We must understand that God’s plan never changes, Jesus’ goal was to get THE BLESSING back to us, it was not just a Heaven issue for us but an earth issue as well.

Matthew 6:10 “Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.”

His will has not changed since the first words He spoke to man, BLESSING words.

The will of God is also revealed in the WORD of God, we don’t pray “if it be your will”, we search the WORD, know the WORD, pray the WORD, and declare the WORD.

This is the mystery revealed, we are IN CHRIST, we are NEW CREATIONS, and we live in THE BLESSING of Abraham.

The second portion I want to look at is Ephesians 3:10-12 NIV “His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, (11) according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. (12) In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”

The second thing that is revealed is that we do not need a priest to approach God we in faith through Christ and with boldness we can approach the throne of Grace.

The mystery behind the vail is revealed, the glory of God – we can now walk in the glory and the glory can flow out of us as we are yielded to Him. The glory outflowed from us is salvation of others, sanctification of others, the manifestation of the Kingdom in healing, miracles, deliverance, signs and wonders.

Matthew 10:7-8 NKJV “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ (8) Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

Mark 16:15-18 NKJV “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. (16) He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. (17) And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; (18) they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

The mystery has been revealed in us, it is Christ in us and the Spirit flowing out of us producing the Kingdom here as it is on earth.

Let’s walk in the revealed mystery and RE-PRESENT Christ and RE-PRODUCE THE BLESSING of the Kingdom on earth.
