Doing some extra reading in my Tree of Life Version Bible. It is translated by a team of Messianic Jewish scholars and uses Hebrew words and uses the Jewish book order for the Old Testament. This Jewish Voice Ministries edition also includes artwork, book introductions and a between the testaments article. As well as various articles from Rabbi Jonathan Bernis. Every Tree of Life Bible contains Sabbath Prayers and weekly Scripture readings. Reading this translation gives a fresh perspective on what you're reading. Right now I'm reading Psalms and the gospels. God's plan for us is not to continually need healing but learn how to walk in divine health. Sure, the enemy will always throw symptoms our way but when we stay in the Word concerning healing and health, symptoms won't stick around too long. Most of us in the beginning give up before victory comes. This is why the stand of faith is important. This is why meditating on the Scripture is important. We know the enemy is persistent and doesn't give up easily. We must be the same way. Proverbs 4:20-22 AMPC "My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh." Choose some favorite healing Scriptures and tab them in your Bible and read them aloud first thing in the morning. When symptoms come rebuke them and declare the Word. Charles Capps book, God's Creative Power for Healing is a great tool. Regularly listen to healing teaching and study healing Scriptures to keep your faith strong and ready. I recommended Kenneth Copeland's Reference Bible for study because it has over 200 outlines on various topics. And remember what James says about patience. Faith isn't a bean stock. Cultivate your faith, feed on the Word and give it time to grow. Start where you're at and go from there. There's nothing wrong with praying over aspirin, but build your faith and believe for the day you tell the headache to go and it goes away with no aspirin. We must hold to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is light and darkness mixing. This is abandoning the gospel. For the denomination to leave the foundational teachings of Luther is mind boggling. This is why we must continually visit the foundations. We must know our spiritual heritage and we must guard against wolves. Whether you're Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist or Pentecostal, the gospel is a sacred trust we've been given. His Institutes of the Christian Religion have been a guiding light for centuries. His commentaries were called the best even by those who disagreed with him theologically. Whether we become distracted by worry or care or we get so focused on a faith project, it can become easy to forget about Jesus. He is not the means to an end, He is the end. He is not the answer giver, He himself is the answer. It does us good to continually read the gospels because our focus stays on Him. Reading the authors and pastors of fifteen to eighteen hundreds will help deepen your relationship, understanding and love of the Savior. Make Jesus the object of your worship, the topic of your prayers and conversation.
